Western Pilgrim: Unique Temple in Kyoto
Hello this Risshisha Yamada.
I'm sure you've all heard the word "pilgrimage,"
but "pilgrimage" refers to traveling to Buddhist temples and sacred sites.
In the Kanto area, there is the ''Bando Thirty-three Sacred Sites,''
which goes from Kanagawa Prefecture to Tokyo, Saitama, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, and Chiba Prefecture,
and the ''Chichibu Temple Thirty-Four Kannon Sacred Sites,'' which takes you to the Kannon Sacred Sites in the Chichibu region of Saitama Prefecture. '',
and ''Saigoku Thirty-three Places'', which tours 33 Kannon sacred sites in the Kinki region and Gifu Prefecture.
It is referred to as "Japan's 100 Kannon."

There are many temples of the``Saigoku Thirty-three Temples'' around Kyoto City.
The 11th Temple,Daigoji Temple Kamidaigo
The 15th Temple, Ima-Kumano Kannon-ji Temple
The 16th Temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple
The 17th Temple, Rokuharamitsuji Temple
The 18th Temple, Chohoji Rokkakudo
The 19th Temple, Gyoganji Temple Kakudo
The 20th Temple, Yoshimineji Temple
Gangeiji Temple
Shiga Prefecture, Kyoto's neighbor,
also has the 13th and 14th temples, Ishiyama-dera and Miidera, etc.
The 18th temple, Chohoji Rokkakudo,
is one that I think is quite unique and fits into modern Kyoto.
If you look at the temple from above, the main hall is hexagonal.
No matter what you say, it's a standout!
The main hall of Rokkakudo can be seen through a huge glass window
from the building along Karasuma Dori, and it is both artistic and beautiful.

It's a really rare scene.
You can also eat and drink while enjoying the seasonal beauty
and Rokkakudo at the Starbucks inside the building.
Good seats are most likely popular (^-^).

Through my tour business, I've had the opportunity to accompany on various pilgrimages.
Every time I go on a pilgrimage, I feel moved by the temple's beauty,
attracted by the aroma of incense on the temple grounds,
and refreshed by the Heart Sutra being recited by my ancestors.

If you are planning an overnight stay in Kyoto for a pilgrimage or sightseeing trip,
we would greatly appreciate it if you could consider staying at a Risshisha Group hotel.
